Fort Valley is the seat of Peach County, located in central Georgia along U.S. Route 341 between Perry and Roberta. Peach County is a small county — 151 square miles — with a mix of urban residential properties in Fort Valley and rural agricultural land surrounding the city, much of it historically used for peach and other row crop cultivation. The county's gently rolling terrain features tall natural pines and old hardwoods on undeveloped parcels, with clay and sandy-loam soil that varies across the landscape. Older residential properties in Fort Valley carry aging housing stock that generates steady demand for junk removal, appliance removal, and structure demolition. Rural parcels outside the city limits often need land clearing, brush removal, and stump removal before they can be put to productive use.
